What Are You Afraid Of?

Listen, I have not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. [2 Timothy 1:7, NKJV]. There is no reason for you to be gripped, controlled, paralyzed, or destroyed by fear. We all face fear. Fear is a normal human emotion. Fear is everywhere. Whenever we turn on the news channels or go on social media, we hear the voices of fear. The doctor reports flood our ears with cancer, heart attacks, tumors, COVID-19, etc… and fear grips us. Still, we don’t have to listen to those noises. We don’t have to agree with them. For [1 John 5:4 NIV] tells us that “For whatsoever is born of God OVERCOMES the world: and this is the VICTORY that overcomes the world, even our faith.

Believe God’s Word More Than Your Circumstance(s)

You know, after the storm was calm, Jesus asked the disciples why they were afraid. It was evident that the external challenge had caused this fear. Still, Jesus was pointing out that they had believed their circumstances more than they had believed His Word. We have to decide before the tests of life come, whether or not we will believe God’s Word. We must commit to put more stock into what God says than in what we see. And God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse gives us the reason to never be fearful. We must not fear because God is with us. Other passages confirm why we should not be afraid. “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? [Psalms 118:6, ESV] God is with me. The same God who is the Supreme Ruler of the entire universe. The same God who made heavens and the earth. The same God who holds all the power to protect. Why, are you afraid? Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. [1 John 4:4, KJV].

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? [Romans 8:31, KJV].

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” [Psalms 23, KJV].

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? [Psalms 27:1, KJV]

God Is Seeing Your Thru

Through many dangers, toils and snares, we have already come!  His grace has brought us safe thus far. And His grace will lead us home. Let these salvation promises be your comfort:  I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. And I am with you always. So as you journey forward in life, don’t be surprised when fear emerges.

Remember, nothing good in life comes without a struggle against fear. The key is to run headlong at fear with your faith in Christ Jesus and your confidence firmly set in Him.

Pray With Me

Father, I commit every area of my life to your good pleasure. I ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. Amen
