Spread the Blessing!

Brethren!
I tell you, we are created to fellowship with God, and to know Him More—to know about Him, and know Him personally, as a Father, a Friend, and as our Creator and Sustainer [Jeremiah 9:23-24, NIV]. For Jesus prayed, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” [John 17:3, NIV].

The Psalmist cried out:
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God” [Psalms 42:1, KJV].

“Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation” [Psalms 25:4‬, NASB]. ‬‬ ‬‬‬‬

“Your hands made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments” [Psalm‬ 119:73,‬ NASB‬‬]. ‬‬‬‬

For, “When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek” [Psalms‬ 27:8, NASB‬‬]‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Brethren, nothing compares with getting to know the God who knows us. He seeks to be known, for He has revealed Himself in nature, through Jesus, The Christ, and in Scripture. The question is: “How can we know Christ more intimately?” Jesus answers that question. We will grow to know Him more intimately by obeying Him. That’s what He says. If we have His commandments and keep them, Jesus promises that we will grow in our relationship with God and know Him more.

Yearn To Know Christ Personally

I don’t know about you, but I want to know Christ intimately. I want to spend time with Him. I want to be close to Him. I want to understand Him and what He is doing. I want to take what the Bible says about Him and experience Him for myself in my own life. Although the Bible says His greatness, riches, judgments, etc., are unsearchable [Psalm 145:3; Romans 11:33; Ephesians 3:8] —nevertheless, I want to know more about Him and to know Him personally. As the Psalmist, put it, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple” [Psalm 27:4, KJV]. Seeking to know God more is the most satisfying, uplifting, edifying, expanding, and glorious task we can ever undertake.

The Blessings of Knowing God More

I tell you brethren: Nothing could be more important than learning all we can about God in whose image we were formed. The more we learn about Him, the more we’re awestruck with the majesty of His being. Just imagine getting to know the Everlasting Father, the God of Hosts, the Lord of Heaven and Earth, the Author and Finisher of our faith —Our Comforter, Counselor, Creator, Great Physician, and the God of all grace. His Name —I AM, the Alpha and Omega —The Holy One of Israel —Jehovah, the Most High, the Lord of the Living and the Dead. The Maker, Mediator, and Man of sorrows! The Only Wise God to whom be Honor and Glory forever and ever! —Our Prophet, Priest, and King —Our Redeemer, Refuge, and Rock! The Ruler of heaven and earth! The Friend of sinners—nothing can compare to knowing more about God!

I hope to never let a day pass without drawing nearer to Him and coming to know Him better, and that’s my desire for you. As the Apostle Peter wrote in a final note to his friends as he was nearing martyrdom: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever, Amen” [2 Peter 3:18, NIV]. For, “His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us” [2 Peter 1:3, NIV].

As the prophet Hosea wrote [Hosea 6:3, Amplified Bible], “So let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] LORD [to honor, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, And He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

A Prayer For You

The Creator and Ruler of the universe wants to spend time with us so that we can know Him better [Ephesians 3:19]. Therefore, I pray, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what the hope of His calling is, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe” [Ephesians‬ 1:17-19,‬ NASB].‬‬‬‬

In the name of Jesus, may God’s grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of Him, and of Jesus, our Lord [2 Peter 1:2], Amen!
