“Why Do You Look for The Living Among The Dead?
He is Not Here; He Has Risen!”[Luke 24:5]
Hallelujah! Jesus said He would rise from the dead. He spoke it Himself as recorded by Matthew [Matthew 16:21; 17:23; 20:19], Luke [Luke 9:22] and Mark [Mark 8:31]. Jesus also spoke of His death and resurrection indirectly [Matthew 12:39; 16:4; 21:42], and in conversation with others. Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has Risen!(Luke 24:5).
The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed… [See Revelation 5, NIV]. The Lamb bears on His body the marks of death, but He is Alive. He has Risen! The One whom they arrested, tried, mocked, and crucified-that One the King of kings and Lord of lords, why do you look for the living among the dead?
The Tomb is Empty! He Is No Longer There! He is Risen!!
Jesus was arrested, tried, and found guilty of claiming to be a king. His body was hung on a cross between two thieves. After his death, Jesus’ body was wrapped in linen cloths and placed in a tomb with a large stone rolled across the opening. On the third day, an early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and another Mary came to the tomb and found it empty. Sitting on the rolled away stone was an angel of the Lord who told them to not be afraid because Jesus had risen. As the women left to tell the disciples, Jesus Christ met them and showed them his nail-pierced hands.
Oh, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” [Revelation 5:12, NIV]. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For in His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead [1 Peter 1:3, NIV].
Come On! Let Us Celebrate Jesus!
If it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be? Don’t let the immeasurable importance of this history making, earth-shaking, life-transforming, and eternity-changing truth fail to change you, and to transform you every day. We have an opportunity to live a life of celebration because of our God. He sent His only Son to be that one-time sacrifice for all of us. We can now live a life of authority over the devil and his schemes. We can now be the light in a world of darkness and chaos. What a life of privilege and blessing!
Triumphantly, He has risen from the dead. We serve a risen Savior, so let us rejoice and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. As the song writer wrote, “Celebrate Jesus, celebrate. He is risen, He is risen, And He reigns forevermore. Celebrate, the resurrection of our Lord” [Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate – Don Moen]. For our Savior has ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you and me [Mark 16:19-20, NIV].
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” [1 Peter 1:3, NIV]. Amen and Amen!
